India’s First Multi-Modal Logistics Park
Recently, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal visited the construction site of India’s first International Multi Modal Logistics park in Jogighopa, Assam to review the progress.
Key Facts
- The park is being developed under the ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojana of the Government.
- India’s first multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) is being constructed in Assam, a project of US$ 407 million.
- This project aims to provide around 2 million direct and indirect employment to youth in the North East.
- This MMLP aims to reduce trade costs by 10% and has a cargo capacity of 13 million metric tons.
