Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)

The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR & Adjoining Areas (CAQM), under Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has revised GRAP to come into force we.f. October 1, 2023 in the entire NCR combat sudden seasonal decline of air quality in the region.

What is GRAP?

GRAP was notified by MoEFCC in January, 2017. These are set of emergency measures utilized to contain decline of air quality reaching to danger levels (set previously) in the Delhi NCR region.
It was approved by Supreme Court in 2016 as per M.C. Mehta v. Union of India (2016) judgment.
