• The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched a joint initiative with the Ministry of AYUSH on public health of tribal students.
• More than 20 thousand tribal students will benefit from the joint national level project of health screening and management through Ayurvedic treatments.
• The initiative aims to cover students in the age group of 10 to 18 years enrolled in classes 6th to 12th in 55 EMRSs identified in 14 states of the country.

• The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH) as part of India’s G20 presidency.
• The initiative aims to democratize digital health technologies, featuring components such as a country needs tracker and a transformation toolbox.
• Union Health Minister Mandaviya highlighted its role in creating an institutional framework for digital health, while Bagchi emphasized India’s digital response during the pandemic.
• WHO Director-General Dr Tedros emphasized GIDH’s support in addressing health system fragmentation and overlap, promoting global digital health standards.

• Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles, faces an alarming ecosystem collapse in 2024, marked by the absence of its native fly.

• Former LIC Chairman M.R. Kumar has been appointed as part-time non-official director and non-executive chairman of Bank of India (BOI).
• Whereas Srinivasan Sridhar has been appointed as a part-time non-official director of the board of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB).
• In another appointment, Aravamudan Krishna Kumar has been made part-time non-official director of UCO Bank.

• Kathmandu recently hosted the multinational military exercise ‘Shanti Prayas IV,’ becoming a hub for global peacekeeping efforts.
• The event involved army representatives from 19 nations engaged in UN Peacekeeping missions, emphasizing collaborative dedication to global peace and security.
• Co-hosted by the Nepali Army and the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, the exercise highlighted the robust military cooperation between Nepal and the United States.

Arunachal Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first state in North-East India and the 10th in the country to attain 100% saturation of Har Ghar Jal under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

• Chief Minister Pema Khandu credited Team Arunachal’s dedication, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for guidance and support.
• The mission, launched on August 15, 2019, aims to provide assured tap water supply to every rural household in India by 2024, promoting an improved quality of life.

• NTPC Green Energy has entered into an agreement with Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation to set up India’s largest green hydrogen production plant.
• This plant will be constructed on 1,200 acres of land at Pudimadaka in Achyutapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
• Under this, the target is to produce 1,200 tonnes of green hydrogen every day.

• ‘International Tourism Expo’ is being organized in Greater Noida from 22nd February.
• Travel agents from more than 120 Indian cities are participating in this three-day expo.
• Internationally, Saudi Arabia is the premium partner country for the event, while Maldives, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are the partner countries.

• The Goa state government will set up a blended finance facility in partnership with the World Bank.
• This is the first of its kind, climate-focused, multi-sectoral initiative at the sub-national level.
• This will provide financial support to low-carbon climate friendly initiatives in Goa.

• Four bone fragments of Lord Buddha, known as Kapilvastu Relics, discovered by William Claxton Peppé in 1898 at Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh, will be taken to Thailand after 30 years.
• The relics were excavated from the ancient city of Kapilavastu.
• According to Buddhist beliefs, Buddha attained salvation in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar at the age of 80, and his relics were divided among different communities to erect stupas, with Ashoka later enshrining them in numerous stupas to spread Buddhism.
