The Union Cabinet of India approved the Venus Orbiter Mission (VOM) to study Venus.

It will help uncover why Venus, once similar to Earth, became uninhabitable.
The mission will address key scientific questions and provide valuable insights into the evolution of both Venus and Earth.
ISRO will develop and launch the spacecraft, with a planned launch window in March 2028.
The project cost is Rs. 1236 crore, with Rs. 824 crore allocated for the spacecraft and related elements.
