Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally launched 5G in India, at the 6 edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) held from October 1-4, 2022, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

About 5G Technology

  • 5G is the 5th generation mobile network, 5G is the latest upgrade in the Long-Term Evolution (LTE) mobile broadband networks with reduced latency than 4G.
    • From lower than 50 milliseconds for 4G, 5G brings it down to below 10 milliseconds
  • It works in three bands of the spectrum.
About India Mobile Congress, 2022

  • India Mobile Congress (IMC), 2022 was held from October 1 to 4, 2022.
  • It is organized with the theme “New digital Universe”.
  • It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event acts as the largest TMT forum in Asia.
  • It is jointly organized by the Indian Government’s Telecom Department and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).
