Tripura Legislative Assembly Election
On February 16, 2023, Elections to the Tripura Legislative Assembly were held to elect all 60 members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
- The votes were counted and the results were declared on March 2, 2023.
- BJP has come to power once again in the state as it bagged a majority of 32 seats, followed by Tipra Motha with 13 seats.
- Meanwhile, the Congress bagged 3 seats, and CPI(M) got 11.
- BJP leader Manik Saha took charge as the Chief Minister of Tripura for the second time on March 8, 2023.
Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Election
- Legislative Assembly elections were held in Meghalaya on 27 February 2023 to elect all 60 members of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
- Meghalaya recorded 81.57% voter turnout in the polling held on February 27, 2023.
- But voting was held in 59 constituencies because a candidate of the United Democratic Party died in Meghalaya
- The votes were counted and the results were declared on March 2, 2023.
- On March 7, 2023, Conrad Sangma was sworn in as the Meghalaya chief minister for the second successive term.
Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election
- The Nagaland Legislative Assembly election was held in Nagaland on February 27, 2023 to elect all 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
- The votes were counted and the results were declared on 2 March 2023.
- The ruling NDPP-BJP has retained power in Nagaland election, with two parties having secured 33 seats in the 60-member Assembly.
- Nagaland also scripted history as it elected women lawmakers for the first time ever- Salhoutuonuo Kruse won from the Western Angami assembly seat and Hekani Jakhalu from Dimapur-III constituency.
- Nagaland political stalwart Neiphiu Rio took oath as the chief minister of Nagaland for the fifth straight term on March 7, 2023.
