19th ASEAN-India Summit

The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and India had the 19th Summit to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN- India dialogue relations.

• The Vice President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, led the Indian delegation at the 19th ASEAN-India Summit, held on November 12, 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
• India and ASEAN’s relationship is now elevated to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) level.
• The Joint Statement proposed expediting the review of ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) to make it more user-friendly, simple, and trade-facilitative.
• ASEAN and India signed the Agreement at the 7th ASEAN Economic Ministers-Meet in Bangkok, Thailand in 2009. The Agreement, which came into effect in 2010, is sometimes referred to as the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement.
• First ASEAN India Start-up Festival (AISF) was held on 27 October, 2022 in Bagor, Indonesia.
